Where do i get brushes and how do i use them?
Brushes for The Gimp and Photoshop can be found at http://www.deviantart.com To use Photoshop brushes just open the .abr file that you download. To use GIMP brushes you need to move them to The GIMP's brush folder. This is normally found ...\gimp 2.0\share\gimp\brushes. This may vary.

Where do i get the pictures people use?
These pictures are called "renders". They have a transparent background so people can easily use them in pieces of art or signatures. A lot of these can be found at http://www.planetrenders.net There are more places to get them, but this is the largest website and the most popular.

I keep seeing signatures with a lot of random shapes and colours, what are these?
These "random shapes and colours" are usually parts of C4D's. These are random shapes made in Cinema 4D. They are usually used to create a focal point and give the signature depth and detail. I can't find where to download the photoshop brushes also do they work with CS3?
Found the devianart site but don't understand how to get the brushes once there.
